Render of the view tower on the beach

Location of artist retreats .. a 1:250 scale drawing. I will put this in front of Will
Alsop in 2 days to see what he thinks ...

Latest Masterplan, with indicators of proposed developments and landscaping along the beach front. This I think should be frozen now as the drawing from which all others are based ... if I continue to work on this then I'll probably run out of time to do anything else.

I'm also busy with 2 large papers, one written as a parametric and calculus led discourse of Dom Hans van der Laan's awesome Abbey in Aarchen, paralleled with Greg Lynn's (in my opinion meaningless) 'Biomorphic' form generation. The other paper is about the 'locus' of home, the idea of home being a place somewhere in the world, and in society, and further that this really is a subjective phenomena of the body.

And I'm half way though Blade Runner, as part of a Film Theory course....

forms. This is built in 3D so I can figure problems not apparent when working in plan or
section ...

Lastest Plan and Section of the retreat - this will prob be worked up to detail scale with ventilation and construction strategies. Its getting there ... slowly!

Just finished building up these Mk 1 retreats for artists ... then rendered them off ... and I don't like them for many reasons. Clunky, un-sure and the classic result of an un-resolved scheme.

Back to the drawing board - in this game you have to learn to accept that you'll end up with something you couldn't imagine in the first instance. And that which you first imagined is most likely crap ...

Quick sketch of the view tower, this is the midway feature of the beach, and will stand about 10 metres high ...

Tram stop on the medium between urban street and beach promenade. Current investigations for construction involve the composition of timber boarding and EFTE - a polymer often formed into structural pillows(!). Will deliver some construction details soon with some precedent.

Latest Masterplan May 7th ... ALong the beach north to south are - artist retreats, view tower, beach huts, tram stops and luxury villas. No car parking.

Some quick sketches of the Artist Retreats along the sea side ... these are not space planned
yet, but will be about 65m sq in total GFA, with timber and poly-carbonate construction and
will poke out of the tree line at the northern end of the beach.
